Emergency roof repair and tarping in Houston

Water in the house, a limb through the decking, shingles gone off a slope. Call and tell us it is an emergency — we will get it covered, then figure out the permanent fix.

An emergency tarp is not a repair, it is a dam. Done right it is fastened into sound decking, run over the ridge so wind cannot get under the leading edge, and sealed at every penetration. Done wrong it holds water in a pocket and makes the inside damage worse than the storm did.

We photograph the roof before we cover it. That matters, because once a tarp goes on, an adjuster can no longer see what was underneath. Our photos become part of your file, and you get them whether the repair goes to us or not.

Most Texas policies expect a homeowner to take reasonable steps to prevent further damage after a loss. Getting a tarp on quickly is exactly that step, and the cost of it is normally part of the claim. Keep every receipt.

  • Active leak stopping and interior protection
  • Storm tarping fastened to sound decking
  • Tree limb removal from the roof surface
  • Punctured decking and rotten wood replacement
  • Blown-off shingles, ridge caps and flashing
  • Full photo documentation for your claim

What you get

A local phone number

Greg answers. In storm season that is the difference between help today and a voicemail box in another state.

Photos before the tarp

Everything the adjuster will not be able to see later gets recorded first.

Tarps that hold

Run over the ridge, fastened into solid wood, sealed at the penetrations. Not weighted down with bricks.

Straight talk about the permanent fix

If a repair holds, we repair it. We are not going to use an emergency to sell a whole roof.

Claim support after the tarp

We can meet your adjuster on the roof and walk the same damage with them.

Clean site when we leave

Magnet rolled over the yard and the drive, debris hauled off, every time.

How it works

  1. 01

    Call and describe it

Where the water is showing, when it started, and whether anything hit the roof. That tells us what to load.

  2. 02

    Make it safe inside

Buckets, moved furniture, and power off to any fixture that is taking water. Stay off the roof.

  3. 03

    We document, then cover

Photos of the damage first, tarp second, then a walkthrough of what we saw up there.

  4. 04

    Scope, claim and repair

A written scope you can hand to your carrier, and a repair or replacement scheduled once coverage is settled.

We would rather you verify a storm date and your policy rights with the people who keep the records than take a roofer's word for it. Every link below goes to a government agency or an independent building-science institute — no contractors, no lead brokers.

Common questions

How fast can you get here?

It depends on how wide the storm was. On a normal day we can usually get someone out same day in the Houston area. After a county-wide event we triage — open decking and active interior water first. We will tell you honestly where you sit in the line instead of promising an hour we cannot keep.

Does insurance pay for the tarp?

Emergency mitigation is normally covered under a Texas homeowners policy because you are required to prevent further damage. Keep the invoice and any receipts for tarps or plywood you bought yourself, and give them to your adjuster with the rest of the claim.

Should I file the claim before or after you come out?

Either works, but having photos and a written scope in hand makes the call go better. If water is pouring in, call your carrier's emergency line right away and call us at the same time — do not wait on one to start the other.

How long can a tarp stay on?

A properly fastened tarp will get you through weeks, not months. Sun and wind chew them up, and every extra week is another chance for wind to find an edge. We treat it as a bridge to the real repair, not a season-long plan.

What if the damage turns out to be minor?

Then we tell you that and charge you for the repair, not a roof. Plenty of our emergency calls end with a pipe boot and a sheet of decking. We would rather have your trust than one oversized invoice.
